Pacesetter Spring Show to Showcase "Legends"
submitted by D'Lee Reagh for the March 2010 Newsletter

pacesettersThe Pacesetters have been working extremely hard preparing for their Spring Show the past two months.  The Pacesetters have a spring show every other year.  The show’s theme this year is “Legends”.  Many performers will be highlighted through dance, song, and skits.  This year’s theme was interesting when we started planning because the difference in what each generation considered a legend made it challenging on who to profile.  For example, Mae West was an actress the girls had not heard of and Mrs. Reagh did not consider Britney Spears a legend.  Many debates were had before the final selections were made.  “I think we have a good variety of entertainment.  I am always amazed at how many talented students we have at Spring Hill” said Mrs. Reagh.  If you have never attended a Spring Show or you have been before we would like to personally invite you to the show.  All age groups are welcomed.  Admission is $5.00 Adult and $2.00 Student.  The show is Saturday, March 27, 7:00pm at the L.L. Williamson Auditorium.  Come and see if your legend will be there!

Pacesetters to Perform at Cotton Bowl
submitted by D'Lee Reagh for the November 2009 Newsletter

Encore Creative Productions Cotton Bowl Brochure CoverThe Pacesetters have been invited to perform with Encore Creative Productions at the 2010 Cotton Bowl parade, pre-game and halftime.  The Pacesetters will be in Dallas December 30 to Jan 2.  A total of 30 people will be going, 18 participants, 11 chaperones and the director.  The Pacesetters have worked very hard over the past 4 months to raise the funds to attend.  Various fundraisers were conducted from the annual Skeet Shoot in August to car washes, garage sales, and candy sales.  A few of the girls are still raising money to meet the $475.00 package fee.  Any alumni donations would be greatly appreciated.  You may contact Mrs. Reagh at the high school.  This is the first year the Pacesetters have been invited and have committed to attending the Cotton Bowl.  The girls are really excited and Mrs. Reagh is looking forward to seeing the girls perform with the other schools involved.    The girls will spend two days rehearsing for the parade, pre game and halftime performances.  They will have an opportunity to perform alongside the World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes and take a master dance class with Shelley Wayne who is currently the choreographer and assistant director for the Rangerettes.  The number of performers can be any where from 500 to 800 girls representing roughly 100 schools.  We will not know the numbers until we arrive on December 30.

In the past Cotton Bowl has been a popular trip taken by many local teams.  Encore Creative Productions is giving the girls the opportunity of a lifetime.  Pre-Game and Halftime performances will take place in the New Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington at the 2010 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.  The girls will also march in the Comerica Parade in Downtown Dallas and perform for thousands of spectators lining the streets for this New Year’s Day Parade.    Be sure and watch the Cotton Bowl Classic on Jan 2 because the game will be televised on Fox Network.

10th Annual Pacesetter Mini Camp
submitted by D'Lee Reagh for the September 2009 Newsletter

The Pacesetters held their 10th annual mini camp on August 29th.  Sixty-six girls from kindergarten to sixth grade attended the camp.  The mini campers danced to Hannah Montana’s hit song "Hoedown Throw Down."  The girls were divided into smaller classes by grade to learn a second dance.  The mini campers were surprised with an appearance by a Hannah Montana impersonator singing "Party in the USA."  It was a fun-filled day of dancing and making new friends.  The campers performed at pre-game of the Brownsboro game.
