KATY BASKIN
BCIS
I
teach Business Computer Information Systems.
I
also coach junior high volleyball, 9th grade basketball, and an
assistant to the track & field program.
Course Description
Students will
be learning about computer software like Microsoft Word, Excel, Access,
PowerPoint, and Publisher. Students will learn the basics of how to navigate
and use each of these software programs and then apply that knowledge in
creating special projects. These projects can be saved in a portfolio that can
be used as a resource for future assignments and can also provide a potential employer examples of your computer skills and
capabilities.
Students
implement personal and interpersonal skills to strengthen individual
performance in the workplace and in society and to make a successful transition
to the workforce and/or postsecondary education. Students apply technical
skills to address business applications of emerging technologies.

an absence without grade penalty. I am available daily for tutorial or make-up
work in the mornings before school from 7:40 – 8:00 AM. If students need to
come earlier, the student will have to get in touch with me to set up a time to
come in. Late work received one day late will be accepted with a 20-point
