GILLENTINE, ALLISON

Chemistry, Physics, TAKS Science

Welcome to my class!  I am so excited to be back at Spring Hill, and privileged to have the opportunity to teach some of my previous students again!  Please feel free to contact me at anytime via e-mail.  I check my e-mail before and after school, and I will do my best to return your e-mail/phone call in a timely manner.  Brief course descriptions are listed below.

Physics:  The science of nature, or of natural objects; that branch of science which treats of the laws and properties of matter, and the forces acting upon it; especially, that department of natural science which deals directly with the causes (as gravitation, heat, light, magnetism, electricity, etc.) that modify the general properties of bodies; natural philosophy.

Chemistry:  That branch of science which treats of the composition of substances, and of the changes which they undergo in consequence of alterations in the constitution of the molecules, which depend upon variations of the number, kind, or mode of arrangement, of the constituent atoms.  Chemistry deals with the changes in the composition and constitution of molecules.

TAKS Science:  This course is designed to give students extra assistance to prepare them for the Exit Level TAKS.  TAKS Science is based on Biology and IPC TEKS.  Coursework will include TAKS related vocabulary, practice questions, laboratory investigations, projects, hands-on activities and tests in TAKS format.
