Course Description:
In English III. students practice all forms of writing, with an emphasis placed on inquiry and research. English III students read extensively in multiple genres from American literature. Few nations have as exciting an array of works, authors, and themes as does our own American literature, and the selections we read will help students realize the value and vitality of our literary heritage. Students enrolled in English III will receive extensive preparation for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test, which is administered in February.

Grading Policy for English III: all grades are of equal value unless otherwise stated. A major test over a literary work may be recorded twice (only if notified). The final research paper grade will be recorded six times.
