Pre-AP Summer Reading

Welcome to Spring Hill High School and to the English Department.  For students entering Spring Hill High school.  I want to say a special welcome to you.  We are already making plans to make this year one of the best at Spring Hill, and we’re so glad you will be a part of it.  To my former students, please make plans to stop by and visit my classroom.  Things will not be the same without you next year.

The State of Texas has implemented new standards to be in place for the 2009-2010 school year.  This provides both teachers and students with new opportunities to enhance the learning experience and make the curriculum more relevant to student success in today’s world.  It will be interesting to see how these changes help our students.  If you are interested in seeing the new standards, called TEKS, you can find them on the Texas Education Agency website under the Curriculum heading.

I would like to extend an open invitation to both students and parents to contact me with questions or concerns you may have about my class or the curriculum.  I like to foster an open dialogue to help students be as successful as they can possibly be.  My email and school phone number are published above.  I have tutorials every morning beginning at 7:30 and in the afternoons by appointment.
