World Geography, & Pacesetters
This is my seventh year teaching at Spring Hill. I teach World Geography
where we focus on the 5 themes of Geography as well as the varied cultures of
our world. I am also the director of the drill team. The Pacesetters are active all year with
football, basketball, competition and our annual Spring Show.

World Geography is structured to provide students with information necessary to
understand the physical and cultural characteristics of the world in which we
live and as a result to make intelligent decisions about our world.
Content emphasis is on physical geography, which includes the study of land
forms, bodies of water, and climates along with human geography that focuses on
the study of political, economic, and social structures of human life.

Grading Policy
Late Work will not be accepted. Any assignment turned in late will
receive a grade of 0. MAJOR TEST/Project grades make up 66.7% of the student's
average. Daily quizzes and daily work assignments determine 33.3% of the
student's average. The Semester Test grade is worth 1/7 of the final semester
grade. There will be one major project assignment to be completed and
graded as a MAJOR TEST grade during each semester.
Make-Up Work
It is the responsibilty of the student to find out what was missed in the event
of an absence. Missed assignments will never be allowed to be made up
during class time. Make-up work should be completed according to the
deadlines as shown below. A zero will be assigned for any make-up work/
major test not completed in the time allotted.
1 absence= 1 day make-up
2 days absence= 2 days make-up
3 days absence= deadline as set by teacher
Reteaching/Retesting
Students who receive a grade of 69 or below on a major test will be allowed to
retest for a grade not to exceed 70. The student will have the
opportunity to attend tutoring with the teacher before school to review any
necessary information. The student will be required to retest on the subject
matter within 5 days after receiving his/her grade. The retest make-up
will be taken by appointment only. Any missed test retake will result in
the failing grade remaining in the grade book unless the absence is certified
by an illness or tragic event.
