SYLLABUS FOR BCIS I
MICROSOFT WORD-WORD-PROCESSING
Students will learn everything needed to know to create and format Word documents. Many assignments will apply different writing techniques: persuasive, narrative, editorial, etc...
MICROSOFT ACCESS
Students will create, update, format, filter, and query access tables, as well as merge Access with Word to create multiple documents.
MICROSOFT EXCEL
Students will create, format spreadsheets, as well as learn formulas and functions that will help them with all aspects of their lives.
MICROSOFT POWERPOINT
Students will learn to storyboard and format PowerPoint presentations, and make presentations to the class.
MEDIA MART-BUSINESS SIMULATION
Students will integrate all programs above to run a fictional business.
CAREER RESEARCH PAPER
Students will research a career on the Internet according to specific thesis statement. They will write a research paper, complete with Works Cited page and Parenthetical Citation.
INTERNET
Students will be completing various mini-research assignments on the Internet throughout the course.
