So, May’s parents come up with a brilliant idea to get her where she
needs to go. They mail her! Complete with
stamps and a mailing label, May travels on the mail train to see her Grandma
Mary.
Vowels in final syllables often sound alike even if they
are spelled differently.

Grammar: - Contractions
and conjunctions; compound sentences
The
setting is the time and place of a story. An author may not always tell you
when and where a story takes place. Look for details that point to the setting
in a story. The setting can also have an effect on how the characters in a
story act.
When
May’s father tells her that he works all day to earn only $1.55, this is a clue
about when the story takes place. We can tell that this story must take place
tin the past.
Math: Continue
working on Measurements as well as reading thermometers. Take Chapter 24 test Thursday over
Measurements.
Science: Finishing
up Chapter 3 in Science and taking test over it on Friday.
Remember that each student must have
