take note

The first week went by so fast and I’m looking forward to the weeks ahead!  My class is wonderful…thanks for sharing your children with me!

math

We’ll be working on number patterns, problem-solving, and place value this week.

reading

Pecos Bill

This week’s story is a tall-tale about a cowboy hero of the Old West.  Bill could rope anything, even a streak of lightning!  The skill lesson is exaggeration – making something greater or bigger than it really could be.

Language

We will work on proper sentence formation – begin with a capital letter, end with a punctuation mark, and express a complete thought.

social studies/science

We’ll begin the week by learning what communities are.  We’ll move from our community to other United States communities.  We will end with world communities and will also be learning map and globe skills.
