FEBRUARY
THEMES:
friendship, groundhog day, Valentines, manners, PresidentsReading (Phonics)-Language Arts
Working hard on blends and digraphs. Digraphs (ck, th, sh, wh, ch)
Story elements--we will also be working on fluency with repetitive readings along with comprehension skills.
SIGHT WORDS:
Please practice sight words nightly! We will be testing these on the 2nd twelve weeks report card.
MATH:
We will do the calendar, weather, and problem solve each day.
Numbers to 20 along with addition and subtraction with manipulatives.
*****Valentine's Party will be Friday the 12th. Please send each child listed on note sent home a valentine. Have students address these cards themselves. They love doing this, and it is great for their handwriting! Cards may come to school at anytime, but please have them here no later than Thursday the 11th.

rrowe@dcol.net***If your child is bringing a book baggie home, please have your child read and discuss story elements with you, sign, and return reading log and book in baggie daily.
Parents---Please continue to check white PAWS folder nightly. Look for notes and classwork.
