What are we up to this week?
September 2nd -September 5th
MAIN FOCUS: Rules, following directions, numbers, and colors
MATH- We will be reviewing and practicing our numbers from 0-25 along with patterns.
READING- We will be reading Lunch and other books with color and mice themes. The skills we will be practicing are main idea, cause and effect, retelling, and classifying. In language we will be learning naming and action words along with following oral directions.
PHONICS- We will be reviewing and practicing the letters T, P, and both the long and short I. We will also be practicing these letters during handwriting. Your child will be bringing their Saxon phonics page home nightly. Please finish the back side with him/her for extra practice.
CHAMPS Rules- We will continue spending time on the school and classroom rules and procedures for the first week of school! J
VOCABULARY WORDS- at, and, can, the, look, my, that, not, for, with
We will also be working on the -at, -an, and -ap word familes.
SCIENCE- We will be learning about plants and how they grow.
SOCIAL STUDIES- We will be learning about rules, and why they are important in our school and in our country.
